Where Care Becomes Action and Support Becomes Transformation
A Sister’s L.O.V.E., Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with tax exempt status in the state of Illinois, was created from a simple but powerful truth: There are moments in life when people are carrying more than anyone can see.
What began as a desire to show up—intentionally, thoughtfully, and with care—has grown into a mission-driven organization committed to supporting women and children through life’s most challenging seasons.
This work is rooted in the belief that support should not be limited or reactive—it should be consistent, intentional, visible, and deeply felt.
Through programs such as the Care Tote Initiative, A Sister’s L.O.V.E., Inc. transforms compassion into action—providing not just items, but reminders of worth, strength, and connection.
The Heart Behind A Sister’s L.O.V.E., Inc.
A Sister’s L.O.V.E., Inc. was created from a deeply personal understanding of the power of intentional support, encouragement, and human connection.
For Dr. Evelyn Murdock, the love and support she received from her sisters prior to their unexpected death became lessons that would remain with her for a lifetime. Their presence provided more than companionship—they provided reassurance, advocacy, encouragement, strength, and care during life’s important and difficult moments.
Through those experiences came a powerful realization:
When people have someone who reminds them they are loved, supported, seen, encouraged, and valued, they are far more likely to flourish—not only for themselves, but within their communities and relationships as well.
A Sister’s L.O.V.E., Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was founded on the belief that care is not always about grand gestures or financial support. Sometimes, care is having someone who listens. Someone who uplifts. Someone who helps connect others to resources, encouragement, hope, and stability during difficult seasons of life.
That belief now serves as the foundation of the organization’s mission: to intentionally create moments of support, empowerment, encouragement, and care for women, children, and all individuals navigating life’s challenges.
Through initiatives such as the Care Tote initiative, A Sister’s L.O.V.E., Inc. transforms compassion into action—providing reminders that people are not alone, they are valued, and that support still exists in the world around them.
“The strength of our society is measured by how we create opportunities for others in their time of need. When care becomes action, people are reminded they are supported, valued, and never alone—and communities thrive.”
—-Dr. Evelyn Murdock
Meet the Founder
Dr. Evelyn Murdock founded A Sister’s L.O.V.E, Inc. from a deeply personal understanding of how meaningful support can shape a person’s life.
Long before the organization existed, the foundation of its mission was being formed through the relationships and experiences she shared with her sisters, mother, and other women in her family. Through those relationships came lasting lessons about the importance of having people in your life who uplift you, stand beside you during difficult moments, remind you of your worth, encourage your growth, and help navigate life’s challenges with strength and dignity.
Those experiences became the inspiration behind A Sister’s L.O.V.E., Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Dr. Murdock is an educational leader, advocate, and community-centered professional with decades of experience supporting students, families, educators, and communities through leadership, professional development, mentorship, and service initiatives. Throughout her career, one truth remains clear: people flourish when they feel supported, seen, encouraged, and connected to resources that help them move forward.
That belief now serves as the heart of the organization’s mission.
Through initiatives such as the Care Tote Initiative, A Sister’s L.O.V.E., Inc., transforms compassion into intentional action by providing thoughtfully curated totes designed to remind individuals that they are not alone during life’s most difficult moments.
For Dr. Murdock, this work is more than a charity—it is a commitment to creating moments of care that restore hope, encourage reflection, and remind people that their lives matter.
Because sometimes the most powerful thing a person can receive is the reminder that someone cares.
Care Tote Initiative Impact
Care Totes are tote bags filled with inspirational items, reading materials, writing materials, and a small care item. Care Totes are distributed to individuals in community centers, shelters, and other facilities.
Since the beginning of May 2026, the Care Tote Initiative has supported individuals in the Pullman, Roseland, and Auburn-Gresham community and the goal is to support at least 50 additional individuals throughout the Chicagoland area by September 2026.
How You Can Help
Every donation helps provide intentional support, encouragement, reflection tools, and care-centered resources to individuals navigating difficult seasons of life.
Care Tote recipients do not pay for the totes. They receive the totes for FREE and each donation helps to fund the curation of items and distribution of the totes.
